CONDITION:
Preowned vintage condition with considerable wear from age and use. The crank mechanism has been tested and works as it should. All removable pieces shown are included, fit properly and appear complete.
The original aqua-green painted finish has scratches, chips, discoloration, oxidation and areas of surface rust. The aluminum bowl and removable components also show age-related wear. We have not painted, polished or restored it. Please look closely at all photographs, as they are an important part of the condition description.
DESCRIPTION:
Straight from the George Collection™ (LOL!!! - he's my husband) comes another old contraption that made us stop and ask, “What in the world does this thing do?” This time, George knew—it is a vintage geared hand-crank citrus juicer!
The crank turns the reamer assembly, while the removable perforated pieces strain the juice into the aluminum collection bowl below. All of the included pieces fit properly, and we tested the crank mechanism to make sure it works as it should.
This is a genuine old kitchen workhorse—not a shiny reproduction pretending to be old. The aqua-green painted base has plenty of chips, scratches, discoloration, oxidation and surface rust. The aluminum bowl and removable pieces also show wear from age and use. We have left everything in its found, unrestored condition so the buyer can decide whether to clean it, restore it or display it exactly as it is.
It would make a fantastic addition to a vintage kitchen-tool collection or a fun display for a farmhouse kitchen, diner, café, restaurant or bar. Although the mechanism works, we are selling it as a vintage collectible or decorative item. Anyone choosing to use it for food preparation should thoroughly clean and personally inspect it first.
