Pumpkin spice for grown-ups. Apothecary opens with rich pumpkin, ground in a mortar and pestle, then deepens into warm, spicy patchouli. It smells like the back room of an old herbalist's shop in October: dark, sweet, and a little mysterious.

Why we chose it for the Cauldron: We started as a bakery, so we're picky about anything pumpkin. This one has none of the syrupy candy-shop note that cheap fall candles get; it's earthy and layered, and it fills a room without shouting. It's the candle we'd burn while stirring a pot on a Practical Magic movie night.

The scent story: Ancient tomes and rolled parchment cover the apothecary's desk. His finger traces a page yellowed with time until he stops at a note scrawled in the margin. He gathers colorful powders, fragrant spices, and bottles of crimson and emerald, lights the flame beneath his beakers, and watches the steam rise. This time, he has found the solution.

Candle care: Trim the wick to 1/4" before each burn, let the melt pool reach the edge of the jar on the first burn, and never burn for more than 4 hours at a time.

Made to order and shipped free in the US from Mythologie Candles' studio in Northern Washington. Because each candle is poured on demand, please allow up to 2–3 weeks for delivery.
